| | Navia Law is a Swedish law firm providing business-oriented legal advice to assist our clients improve their business. It is important to us to be credible in offering cost-efficient legal services to our clients, and thus, we only offer services within areas of law where we find that we will be able to provide first tier advice with maintained cost-efficiency. At this point we offer legal advice to clients in any area of business within commercial contract law, purchasing and sales related law including distribution and agency law as well as Swedish intellectual property law, i.e. trademark law, counterfeit law, domain name law, patent law, copyright law, design law, marketing law and data base law. As a complement, we also provide cost-efficient general legal advice on several areas of Swedish law, e.g. company law, capital markets law, competition law, environmental law etc. Consequently, we do not generally offer legal advice on e.g. advanced labour law, tax law or litigation/arbitration. From an industry perspective, we have a strong basis for offering legal services to companies with a major research and development (R&D) related part of their business particularly within the Life Science (companies under the supervision of the Swedish Medical Products Agency and the Swedish National Food Administration (FDA), i.e. pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, natural remedies and food supplements), IT and telecom industries. In addition, we have relevant competence and experience from legal matters relating to companies active within the sectors of real estate, transportation, insurance, banking and financing and media, entertainment and sports. In assessing if we will be able to provide cost-efficient advice in a particular case, it is always the needs of the client that will be the deciding factor. In close collaboration with the client we assess the situation and discuss what is needed in order to satisfy the client’s requirements in the particular matter. If we find that we will not be able to provide cost-efficient advice, we will always refer the client to another lawyer specialized in the relevant field of law. Through our practice as in-house legal counsels, we have extensive experience of engaging outside legal counsel both internationally and in Sweden, and upon request, we may of course provide our clients assistance in finding a suitable foreign or Swedish attorney/legal consultant to handle the matter.
